About Qdata® Thyroid Eye Disease

Thyroid eye disease (TED) is a condition that occurs in association with autoimmune disease of the thyroid gland in the neck. It can cause inflammation and enlargement of the muscles and fatty tissue behind the eyes in the eye sockets. This can then lead to a patient experiencing dry or watery eyes, pain in the eye socket, disfiguration of the face due to bulging and swollen eyes, loss of vision, and a variety of other issues. TED, however, does not have a unique ICD-10 code, which makes it challenging to identify this patient population, hence the need for more tools to support thyroid eye disease research.
